Who we are ?

Eden Cats cattery in Moulinet in the 47

Hello, and welcome to our site Eden Cats Cattery in Moulinet, in the Lot-et-Garonne.

If you are on our page, it is because you probably have a cat at home and you are looking for a safe , homely and warm place for your cat when you go away.

One of the first questions cat lovers ask themselves  before adopting a cat is: “Who will take care of my cat when I am away?

Indeed, even when you are responsible for an animal, you cannot stay at home permanently. There will be unforeseen events, business trips, (well-deserved) vacations that require leaving your cat for a few days or weeks.

At Eden Cats, we demonstrate:

  • Patience : when a cat first arrives at the pension they may not have immediate trust : you have to be patient to create a new relationship
  • Rigor and availability : at the cattery, we live on site 7 days a week. Our days are punctuated by our little residents who have physiological and emotional needs. We ensure daily that food is always available, litter boxes are kept clean and that each cat gets the attention it deserves.
  • Observation : each cat has there own unique personality and habits. We take the time to observe them and to give them what they need as best we can.
  • Security : we make every effort to ensure that your cat is safe and does not escape. We pay attention every day to ensure that the accesses are closed and that each cat is comfortably installed in its accommodation.
  • Versatility : at the cattery, we do everything ourselves, from feeding to care, including brushing, games and maintenance of the premises.
  • Responsibility : Charlène holds the ACACED (Certificate of Knowledge for Pets of Domestic Species) and is continuously training as a behaviorist to have the right gestures with animals.
  • Tenderness : because this is what your cat misses the most in your absence. And the part of the job we love the most: hugs!

Nice to meet you, we are Charlène and David !

We took over Eden Cats on March 8, 2022. Since then, we have looked after nearly a hundred cats, including thirty who regularly return to the pension during the absence of their family

When you make an appointment at the cattery, it is me, Charlene, that you meet first. I am a dynamic woman, positive and passionate about animals, and an animal keeper by training. This place is above all my passion project. I am lucky to be accompanied and supported on a daily basis by David, who becomes the handyman.

An atypical journey before Eden Cat

Before taking over the management of the Eden Cats Cattery, we both worked in National Education. But I quickly knew it wasn’t for me. So I went back to ‘school ‘at the age of 30 to follow a career of my passion for animals.

Once I graduated as an animal caretaker, I did internships in zoos both in France and China. I was in contact with a large variety of animals: tapirs, geese, lions, giraffes, orangutans… I also travelled around the world for 2 years and did woofing in shelters and dog and cat boarding houses. Then in 2020, the pandemic stopped my travels and forced me to return to France. The good side of things is that I met David, who had stayed in Bordeaux and worked as a supervisor and animator in schools. We thought about a life that would make more sense for us.

On the bright side, I reunited with David. Also, who had stayed in Bordeaux and was working as a supervisor and facilitator in schools. Like many, we thought about a life that could have more meaning.

Before becoming my real “Swiss Army knife man”, David worked as an animator for children in schools and high schools. He is caring, gentle, attentive, patient and that makes him my best ally.

Our dream of owning a Cattery has now been realized

I really enjoyed my experience in animal shelters and boardingh. So I decided to set up my own boarding house for cats with David by my side. This new motivating project was also a way to fight against dropouts, which are so numerous during the holiday period.

We were so lucky to meet Mireille Laudat . A passionate woman who dedicated her life to animals and founded Eden Cats alone 16 years ago in Moulinet in the Lot-et-Garonne. She decided to retire and entrust her cattery to people who loves animals as much as she does. And it is with great pleasure that we have taken up the torch in 2022.

Our daily life at the Eden Cats Cattery

Today, our daily life is punctuated by the maintenance of the buildings, the green spaces and the cattery. We appreciate our days spent with the little residents as much as our life on site with our two lovely dogs, Duvel and Faro, and three male cats, Moustik, Domino and Filou. It is with pleasure that we will welcome you to get to know you and to show you around this nice pension. Here, the cats are comfortably housed, with unlimited access to secure gardens.

What we like most, beyond contact with animals, is the opportunity to build a relationship with you, and to achieve mutual trust and respect. We do our best to make, you and your cat, feel like part of our family. And we hope that will help you to travel as peacefully as possible.

Our heads are full of projects

In the long term, our ambition is to expand the cattery and add individual chalets to accommodate more residents: we hate having to say “no” to you when we are full.

Also, we plan to set up a structure that will be called “ Bienvelus à tous ”. We want to, organize an annual festival combining arts, music and gastronomy, and donate the profits to associations supporting the animal cause.

In the meantime, we are 100% dedicated to the cats we keep. Follow us on our social networks where we share our daily life at the cattery and discover the stories of our little residents ! From the most shy to the most extrovert, each animal has a story to tell.

We hope to see you soon at the Eden Cats cattery. Take care of yourself, you can count on us to take care of your cat.
